About us

Lindsay & Thomas
…and Austin, D’Incanto (“Dinky”), Worden, Indie, Miro, Aberdeen, Sterling, Tiger, and Doris 1 through Doris 6.

This is us—on our ranch called Latitude 770. But, as with most good stories, it all began somewhere else.

The Beginning

November 30, 2012. Vienna.
We were both invited by our friend Annemarie to her birthday party at the rooftop bar of the 25hours Hotel—casual, stylish, and full of good conversation. The guests were spread across a few tables: Thomas at one end, Lindsay at the middle table. As the evening progressed and people slowly left, everyone consolidated around one table.

At some point, Lindsay began venting—quite passionately—about Swiss men (we will spare the internet the exact wording). That was when Thomas chimed in:
“I have an Austrian passport.”

Later that night, as the group dwindled to just a few, Thomas picked up the bill for Lindsay (apparently confirming her earlier point). A spark was unmistakably there.

Two weeks later, Thomas joined Annemarie on a weekend trip and visited Lindsay in Switzerland. Shortly after, Lindsay came to Austria following her New Year holidays in Canada. And from there—everything unfolded.

Building a Life Together

Over the years, our relationship grew across countries and cultures. Thomas moved in with Lindsay near Zurich and began working at Swarovski’s global headquarters in marketing. Lindsay left her job to pursue Veterinary Medicine at the Vetsuisse Faculty in Zurich.

Those were exciting, demanding years—balancing an intense academic schedule on one side and the fast-paced world of a global jewelry and fashion brand on the other. Along the way came countless stories, shared growth, and our wedding in 2017.

By 2019, we set our sights on the United States. Lindsay signed a one-year contract with a clinic in New Jersey, while Thomas planned an internal transfer at Swarovski.

Then COVID arrived—along with a visa ban. Lindsay honored her commitment and went ahead; Thomas visited when possible. A year later, we both realized the U.S. was not our place, and Lindsay returned to Switzerland.

A New Direction

We took new jobs and moved to Bern, living in the newly completed BäreTower—the largest residential building in Switzerland at the time. Professionally challenging and personally transformative, this period also sparked a bigger question: Where do we truly want to build our future?

Canada had long been on our minds. We began quietly putting the pieces in place. And then—another life-changing moment—we were expecting.

Just before Thomas received his permanent residency, Austin arrived. Suddenly, we were not just a couple, but a family. In fact, already five of us—Dinky and Miro were very much part of the journey, too.

Latitude 770

In April 2025, we packed up our lives and made the big move to Canada. Today, we live about 25 minutes southwest of Stony Plain, Alberta, on Highway 770.

Finding our acreage felt anything but coincidental. The name Latitude 770 carries meaning for us:

  • 7 symbolizes spiritual awakening, wisdom, and understanding
  • 0 represents infinite potential and new beginnings

Together, they remind us that we are on the right path—guided, supported, and encouraged to trust our intuition.

We truly feel we are where we are meant to be: surrounded by nature, grounded by community, and excited about what lies ahead.

With this blog, we want to share our stories, experiences, and learnings—both big and small.

Enjoy reading.
